Go Be A Great Parent
I was a teacher and administrator for 27 years and have an doctorate degree in education. I am a mother of 2 adult children and the grandmother of 6. Everything I do, I do with passion and commitment. I love teaching both kids and adults. I've thought about writing a book on parenting for years and decided this was the year to do it. However, in the year 2010, books are not the "hot market," for information, the internet is. So, I did some research and decided to write an online course instead of a book.
I liked the way my mother parented and I modeled her approach with a few modifications. When my daughter had her first child she wanted to know "how I did it?" and she has followed that same approach, making her own modifications.
I want to share this approach with other parents who may not have had such a positive beginning. Everything I do, I do with the hope that it will make a difference for the people with whom I am working. That is how I am approaching this course.
I have two target groups: One is for individuals who have to take a parenting course as part of a court ordered action (could be a divorce, co-parenting plan, etc.)
The second group is looking for help with either a difficult child or with specific situations.
The more general description of my target audience is parents who view themselves as unsuccessful or who lack confidence in how to handle many of today's parenting challenges.
I would like something that is upbeat and positive. I don't have a color scheme in mind but I prefer bold and bright over subdued and pale.
The title "Go Be a Great Parent" implies positive action and some how that needs to be expressed in the font, icon and color.
I prefer clean, straight forward lines rather than fancy.
This needs to appeal to both men and women.
This url leads to a site that I don't like. It is "cutesy and childish."
This site is straight-forward but lacks "pizzaz." http://www.onlineparentclass.com
I like the small icon that is a part of this site but not the pictures across the top. http://www.celebratecalm.com
