A winner was selected from 104 designs submitted by 25 freelance designers.
ScrapyTown is a soon to be launched Scrapbooking community where users can share their creations and get feedback or look for new ideas for their own scrapbook pages. There will also be product reviews and an events agenda.
The site won't go on production until the middle of May, but we currently have a little blog at scrapyhearts.com that you can check if you want an idea of what we are into. Disregard colors and design, it was put together by my husband :-) .
>>>> Update:
We would like to emphasize the concept of "scrapbooking" over "town". The word town is in the name only to denote community.
Scrapbooking according to Wikipedia, is a method for preserving personal and family history in the form of photographs, printed media, and memorabilia contained in decorated albums, or scrapbooks. So concepts related to it would be scissors, pictures, colored or patterned paper, albums, glue, etc...
The favicon is also important! A favicon is a 16×16 pixels scaled down logo that represents the web page in browsers. Even if the full logo is great, if we are not able to scale it down or take a recognizable part of it to fit in 16x16, we could not use it.
ScrapyTown or Scrapytown (the capitalization doesn't really matter).
We are looking for a Scrapbooking themed logo that emphasizes the
creative as well as the community aspect of the site. The logo should
be or contain the "ScrapyTown" name. Ideally the logo should
be simple and look good with few colors so it can be featured in
clothing (so avoid gradients, etc...).
While the logo doesn't require a mascot, if you choose to include one we would prefer a female mascot.
Feel free to go outside of these guidelines if you have an specific vision, you are the professional !
- Full Logo in psd, fonts and vectored format for the images. The idea is that the logo can be scaled or the background changed.
- favicon.ico (should be a scaled down version of the full logo or a recognizable part of it).
- While the site is mainly targeted to women it shouldn't be pinkish.
