Name of the company (LeoLudo) is a combination of 2 words:
- Léo (written Leo), which is the name of the owner's 8m.-old baby boy + Ludo: in french, prefix ("ludo-") is defined as something that "relates to play/playing".
As in the word ludoéducatif (part of the tagline), that we use in its hyphened version "ludo-éducatif". It translates to "who aims to educate through fun".
In other words: educational + fun. Which summarizes the core mission and values we set for opening this brand new specialized "boutique". Things we're not: store, thrift store, bookstore, no clothing, nothing second-hand, we don't rent, etc.
We're looking for a fun, vibrant & professional logo design to become the face of an e-commerce site + brick-and-mortar shop located in what is now considered a "historic building with exceptional heritage value" (stone construction built in 1814, one of the rare & oldest stone buildings in the city).
We would love a logo that incorporates the particularities of the physical background in which the store operates: walls are gray stones, with wooden beams & original wooden trim throughout. We were thinking perhaps something from the world of knights/princess (from castles). Alternative idea was a play on the origins of the name Leo (latin for lion). In any case, character would be a young boy. We're open to ideas on that front.
Main colors to include if possible: Cherry (hot pink), dark blue, yellow/orange. At least 2/3 of those colors, which match the branding/logo from our 2 other long-standing businesses (child care centers) established at walking distance away from the new store's location. There's some brand recognition there we hope to "cash in on" by keeping the same brand colors.
