Powers Firearms Training Corporation
We are a husband and wife owned and operated firearms training business specializing in firearms training for women and families. A substantial portion of our business is concealed weapons permit training and security guard training. We also spend a many hours weekly training women who are new to firearms and often quite ambivalent. We focus upon the core value of operating the firearm safely. We strive to assist our clients in training to safely use the firearm in defensive applications. We devote a portion of our courses to the legal application of force in protection of hearth and home. We also engage in basic firearms training along with a variety of training for security professionals.
Our classes are very family oriented, with homemade cookies being one of the well known aspects of many of our classes. We provide a friendly nurturing environment where our clients can come to acquire the skills necessary to protect self, friends and family by judicious application of firearms. We strive to make our classes a place where people of any background, race, creed or religion can come and feel welcome. We have achieved satisfactory success so far but have evolved our focus and have now incorporated. We need a logo which will identify us to our clients.
Most of our clientele are local professional business owners or employees of those businesses. Many of our clients are government employees such as non-sworn employees of law enforcement agencies, Judges, and court clerks. Retired citizens are a substantial portion of our clientele and many are retired military. We also have a substantial portion of the market share in our area teaching women to shoot firearms and many of these women have no military, law enforcement nor any other firearms experience. Many of these women are very timid at what is often their first introduction to firearms training. We do not want to scare these folks away with a "Tactical" or militaristic look.
While the "outdoorsman or outdoorswoman" is a portion of the business, some of our clients would not classify themselves as such. Many carry firearms on a daily basis but some only have firearms in their homes. Very few of our clients would not consider their firearms for defensive usage.
Our clients come from all walks of life but share a common interest in the legal, safe and appropriate use of firearms.
We are looking for a Logo to headline our business. We will be using our logo for our website where most of our clients may go to check schedules. We will be redesigning the website so that clients may book enrollment into classes.
The logo will be used for business cards, fliers, certificates and perhaps promotional materials. It is anticipated we will eventually branch the logo out into t-shirts and hats. So a logo which can be rendered in a two color format will be given weight.
Many businesses which offer firearms training are very "tactical" in nature. We avoid the militaristic and tactical "look" and stress the legal and judicious application of force when necessary. We do not want an overt "tactical" look however we recognize that many of our clients will recognize and be comfortable with symbols such as shields as a more neutral symbol. We are open to shields, swords, spears, lightening bolts, hammers and other ancient or ancestral symbols. Our ancestral heritage includes Swedish, Irish and American Indian ancestors. Latin phraseology is a common symbol used by training schools and was used by Col. Cooper. Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas. (which we do not wish to pirate but is noted for example to the designer)
We are looking for a logo which will indicate safety and application of force in protection of hearth and home.
