SWH&R needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 177 designs submitted by 43 freelance designers.
Seattle Women’s Health & Research
We are a small women’s health center and medical clinic that also conducts a significant amount of research on a wide variety of women’s health issues. We have been operating under three names:
1) North Seattle Women’s Group (for women’s medical care),
2) Women’s Clinical Research Center (for research), and
3) Menopause Center of Seattle (because our clinicians have a special menopause certification).
We are consolidating to operate under a single name, Seattle Women’s Health & Research. To start, we need a logo. For more information about us, see http://www.wcrcseattle.com.
Our practice serves women of all ages. Our typical medical patient is an adult woman needing routine gynecological care. We also have a menopause specialty, which is useful for women aged 45+. Our study patients can generally be separated into two groups: 1) Young women in their 20’s who are relatively healthy (often for birth control studies), 2) Mature women over age 45 who may have minor health problems (often for menopause-related studies).
We want a logo complimentary to our new name (Seattle Women’s Health & Research) that is simple and conveys a sophisticated, modern aesthetic.
Nothing pink or too flowery - we are so tired of this stereotypical version of femininity. We prefer something smarter and more stylistically mature. It is acceptable to use the female form in your design.
Colors: We recently remodeled our office with earth tone browns. We are going to highlight the space with the art of Don Li-Leger (http://li-leger.com/). Using this color scheme as an inspiration will set you on the right track. Ideally, this logo will still look good when printed in grayscale, which we have to do for some of our newspaper ads.
Our name should be clear and easy-to-read.
No stock images or clip art, please.
We’d like the final image in a high-quality, hi-res format (e.g. a vector file).
Thanks and good luck!
