How donatemycard started their logo design journey
Donate My Card
We are launching a new technology that will take the over $8 billion in unused gift card value sitting in drawers and wallets in the US and donating them to charities. Both retail gift cards and prepaid VISA cards can be donated. What major charities? Red Cross, March of Dimes, Salvation Army, United Way, etc. What Major retailer cards? .Best Buy, Home Depot, Gap, VISA prepaid debit, and more.
Our system is totally digital...the cardholder goes online (or their 3G Smartphone) and once registered, can simply put the card number into our secure database, accept the terms and designate the charity they want the funds to be donated to.
We will have a very high profile Advisory Board, and a rock solid management team. We intend to quickly be the largest faciliator of donations to charities in the country.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Initially our logo is designed for our corporate/charity/celebrity audience initially, but ultimately this is a consumer logo as we roll out donatemycard.com.
Our brand needs to stand for integrity, compassion yet modern. We use technology to build the bridge between unused value and charities that need the money. As a consumer brand, it has to speak to both the givers of these gift cards and the recipients...who are usually young and brand -conscious.
****UPDATE 4/29/10 3:30pm PST**** Please do not submit any logo with the letters "DMC" in it. Too close to RunDMC and we don't like acronyms. Thanks!
