Wildlife Health Cornell is a new College of Veterinary Medicine Center of Excellence based at Cornell University. Our vision is to ensure a healthy future for wildlife, people, and planet. We represent a team working around the world to develop a deeper understanding of the relationships between wildlife and human health, and the environment that supports us all. Our ultimate goal is the conservation of the world’s wildlife. Why: Because we need nature, and nature needs us. Target audience: Supporters/donors, partners (government, nonprofit, university, and corporate), and the public. Additional Program Info: Wildlife Health Cornell represents an unprecedented approach to the health challenges wild animals face in the northeast U.S. and around the world - a comprehensive, science-based response by a team of the world's top wildlife health experts. With an emphasis on the types of interdisciplinary collaboration often required to foster real progress along the science to policy and action continuum, Wildlife Health Cornell has grown out of a palpable sense of genuine urgency regarding the fate of our planet's wildlife, an increasing understanding of our own dependence on the planet's natural systems, and the recognition that it will take a new generation of colleagues to halt and reverse the trends we face. Mission: We strive to develop proactive, science-based approaches for sustaining a healthier world. By improving knowledge, understanding, and capacity at the interface of wildlife health, domestic animal health, and human health and livelihoods, environmental stewardship can be enhanced today, and for tomorrow.
- No stock art or clip art. Must be original design. - Logo should be clean, simple, modern, professional, sophisticated, and scalable (easy to use across different platforms such as websites, social media, mobile, printed materials, and physical objects from posters to business cards). - Generally we like blues, greens, and earth tones like yellow/tan, but we are very much open to other color schemes as well. - The words “Wildlife Health Cornell” should be easy to separate out from the design. We prefer the words to be stacked on the side, one word in each line. - Would like logo to convey sense of interconnectedness, hope, optimism. - No one animal can represent the entire ecosystem or the breadth of our work, so we have found that we like the more abstract designs that are open to interpretation, but still convey a component of wildlife, nature, and/or planet. - We prefer logos that go beyond one single species and portrays interdependence, connectivity, and/or some global aspect. - If wildlife is used in the design, we prefer it to be more stylized/abstract, and with components of terrestrial animals that are charismatic and symbolic of what’s left of wild nature. - No designs that resemble trophy heads, antlers, or where people could mistake us for a hunting group. - No designs focused on birds or marine wildlife, unless a component of terrestrial wildlife is also represented. Attached are examples of logos we like from similar organizations. They are simple, modern, scalable, and the symbol can be easily used on its own without the name.
