Jeste got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Design a Logo for Dresscode, a clothing brand for developers and programmers

* We are aware that we should pay much more for work like this then what we are giving in this contest, but we are at the beginning, bootstrapping our startup and we don't have a large budget or someone to back us up. We can promise that we will provide more work for the contest winner if our brand starts growing and that we will pay that person more fairly. Thank you all for helping us Dresscode is the new clothing brand for programmers and developers. Our name is a wordplay made from two words that describe what we are, dress as a piece of clothing and code as something that every programmer creates every day. We want to be a premium brand, a status symbol and something that every developer would be proud to wear. We are starting with premium socks collection (see pictures below, there are three samples of our socks), and after that, we plan to release shirts collection and sportswear collection for developers. The logo will be used on our website, on clothes as a logo (see logo-on-the-shirt-example.jpeg) and shirt labels, on stickers, print... We included examples of logos that we like (scramble logo is our favorite) so you can use them as some sort of inspiration or reference point, but we would like you to show us your ideas and propose something different if you think it will suit our brand better. For now, we are thinking about mascot/illustration (line neon cat or Lacoste alligator) or just letters (like Scramble logo), but as we said, we would like to see your ideas. The logo should look both nerdy and premium :D
We are not yet sure if we're going to go with dresscode, Dresscode with capital D or Dresscode(); for the brand name. You can use whatever you want, maybe your design will be the one to give us judgment on what's best. Something to think about: In most Object-Oriented programming languages you make an instance of a class by typing reserved keyword "new", name of the class you want to instantiate and add parentheses with a semicolon at the end, so something like this: new Dresscode(); So maybe you can use that for a logotype, we had something in our mind but we can't explain it well enough so we will just leave it to you. PLEASE without serif fonts and letters. You can see some examples of logos that we really like in attachments and that's probably the way you want to go. Scramble logo is our favorite but they are jiu-jitsu and martial arts brand so Japanese letters go with their logo, but we are not sure what we can put instead of Japanese letters in our logo. If you have some ideas, we will be more than glad to see it. Also, Lacoste alligator and neon cat are something that we really like so something like that is an option too.
