Logosquare provided the most original designs during the initial entry phase of the competition. It was obvious that he spent time reading through the design brief and notes, as well as studying the examples provided in order to prepare quality design ideas. During the final phase, he listened to my comments and provided the requested changes quickly. I am very happy with Logosquare's work and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking professional logo/design work.
How dapbot started their logo design journey
The premise of the site will be delivering a high quality, convenient and reliable service to customers at prices significantly below Recommended Retail Price.
The site will also have a great deal of added functionality - links to reviews at sites like 'gamerankings' and metacritics, capability to rate and review games, share with friends etc., transparency with regard to competitor pricing and much more...
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Must be relatively broad. I want the design to be young and chic, but not to the extent that it would drive away older customers (eg parents buying games for their kids).
We have no existing designs, so you've got a lot of creative license here. Feel free to experiment with fonts, colours, and potentially incorporating shapes/symbols.
The only shapes/concepts I can think of incorporating are a) a robot (to go with dapbot concept) and b) a video game. But I'm more than happy for you to use neither or look for ideas outside of this (feel free to build ideas from the description of 'dapGames' above...)
I am looking for something relatively simple and elegant. I have attached some logos that I like the look of...
My only other note is: I don't want the logo to be TOO tied to the 'video games' idea - we need to give the business the opportunity to grow beyond selling just video games, and I don't want to constrain that. This means that:
1. The word 'games' in the logo should be able to be removed/replaced with something else (like 'store').
2. If the concept of a video game is included as a shape in the logo, it should be fairly abstract I think...
I will definitely try to give plenty of feedback as we go along so that we can refine what we are looking for.
