I want to juxtapose the playfulness/cheekiness of my business name
against an elegant background with a touch of playfulness in it.
Because the name is cheeky, playful and contrasts itself, I still want
to have a strong element of maturity and professionalism in the look
& feel of the logo. Juxtaposition is key. Which is why many of my
values as selected in this form are in the middle - not because they
neutral, but because they both contradict and complement each other.
Personally I was thinking of a nightingale with its big round chest
but then in a sort of Victorian-era or Art Nouveau look & feel -
though I am open to ideas.
I LOVE the playful element of the necklace on the magpie logo I
attached. Would be thrilled to see something as ironic or catchy -
while still subtle - that was inspired from that.
I would want the delivery to include a few options with colour, b&w,
as well as for use in different sizes and lay-outs - eg, on a web
site, e-newsletter, LinkedIn etc. An easily re-sizable (vector?)
image please, as well as clear directions for colour palate and fonts

Have a sense of humour - this is so crucial to my own copy voice and
my personality. So I want to see this more in the designs.
The idea is to keep it in balance - we need the humour as much as the
sophistication to balance it all out.
Choose to focus on embellishing the lettertype OR on the ornateness or
quirkiness of the bird - just remember the bird ideally should have a
big fat open mouth and a big confident chest. (Or bring in another
icon or element you find suitable if you think the bird is just not
So a really sophisticated font that goes all over the place means the
bird (with an OPEN beak please) only needs a suggestion of
I would love to see some designers dare to push this bird out of their
comfort zones and go nuts with it, just as some of the recent
designers have done so with the lettering :)
But remember: a brilliantly eccentric bird would mean a clean
lettertype - but you can play around with the font size.
I have added some silly birds at the bottom of my brief for more
