Our final design was exactly what we were after. The designers were professional, gave us great ideas to work with, were prompt in their reply and followed direction well.
The only thing that could be improved is the interaction between designers via the website. Each day we received around 100 designs and the designers would ask for feedback on their new design. But when we clicked on it, we couldn't see their previous work to compare with, instead we would have to scroll through all the designs to find it before we could compare and comment. Then we would have to do this for each new message. If there was a way to connect the designers new work with all the things they previously posted for efficient reference, that would be great.
We have had a fantastic experience with 99Designs and would recommend to everyone.
How salleykn started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Little Gem Fiber Co.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
My company hand dyes high-quality yarns (not something you'll find at a big box store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby) in fun, whimsical and unique colors. The audience is probably predominantly female, though not exclusively female. They are willing to pay more for high quality items and appreciate playful and whimsical designs. In general, they are also probably fairly youthful, not the grandma image you might have of knitters :)
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Games & Recreational
What colors do you want to see in your design?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
I particularly like the clean font as well as the splash of whimsy in the crown. I do prefer a white background, though.
I like the flow of color, particularly in the font.
I'm drawn to the geometric design within the rhino.
I love the introduction of color with the simple (but still interesting) font.
I like the general whimsy of this design. I'm not a total fan of the font, I prefer a more clean look, but it totally works with this design!
I love the effect of the colors on the background. I also like the simplicity in the font.
I appreciate the creativity and simplicity of this design. I am not always a fan of script fonts, but this one is easy to read.
This design is clean and minimal but also provides a bit of whimsy with the nest that I really like.
I would like to stay away from a ball of yarn and knitting needles-- that is very overdone in this industry. I like whimsical but do not like cartoon-y type logos. I am open to considering any design that you come up with, but to give you a starting point, when I imagine it, I imagine a clean, easy to read font. I'd also like a logo that will grow with my brand, so combining whimsy with sophisticated as well. I'm attaching a couple of my colorways to give you an idea of what I make.
