My current website is http://www.EncoreClub.com for the brick and mortar poker club located in Portland, OR and this is an attempt to re-brand into PDX Poker Club (I purchased http://www.PDXPokerClub.com).
Please see attached examples of the various graphics which will give you an idea of what I liked and approved in the past. I especially like Tim Ferris' poster and its combination of colors (maybe without dominating black background, which makes it too dark, literally and figuratively).
The keywords that come to mind are classy but not too polished/serious, fun but a bit reserved, not corporate but unique, with its own identity, airy, free, feel good, not overly aggressive, poker themed but not too much, all the while avoiding extremes and over the topness.
I looked at many Las Vegas casino websites and I don't like how they look and feel. Too serious, too corporate, too trying hard. I understand their purpose is to appeal to as broad demographics as possible but that's not who we are. We are friendly, social place organized around skill based game called poker tournament.
