City Neighbors Charter School
City Neighbors Charter School is an arts-integrated, project-based charter school located in northeast Baltimore City. With a diverse community, progressive educational ideals, and a dynamic Board of Directors and staff, City Neighbors is leading the way of educational innovation in the city.
We are the coolest school in the city. Where else in public education can you find an integrated school where every child in known and loved? We are a grassroots group that has grown and is thriving. We need to put an elevator in the building so that we are accessible to all. We have a matching grant of $200,000, and we need to raise $100,000 to access that money. We have a basement and three floors.
This logo will be used to reach out to the business community, the parents and grandparents of our students, and private individuals who care about public education and the children of Baltimore City.
We use real texts, real food, real relationships, and real conversations to make our school come alive. We use the arts to teach, and we ask the children to express their learning using 100 languages.... So, the logo can't be cutesy or cartoony. It seems like if it looked as though Van Gogh sketched it, that might be best....self portrait of an elevator...
So, raw materials, engineering drawings, blueprints, hopefulness, Going Up! These are the words that resonate with who we are. The tag line for our school is :Inspired to Create.
Have fun, and visit the website and look at the pictures of our students for more info: you may see them marching on City Hall, or down in DC, doing mock trials, traveling to Germany, camping out, observing nature.... you get the picture? Thanks for you efforts.
