laraO got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Chatbot needs a new face and a stamp!
Check out laraO's Logo design contest…
It is a product to tackle the problem of mistrust on the internet, and we are starting with the friction of online selling and buying between strangers. The thing is, we love Craiglist but it is really full of scammers, and not only that, sometimes people don't deliver as promised: maybe they don't show up, maybe the product is not as advertised. Nevertheless, we (and I'm sure you) identify ourselves as good people that suffer from these issues at the same time that others don't trust us because they are scared too. This is unfair so we have created a product that checks that you are trustworthy and, at the same time, it checks the people you are transacting with are trustworthy too, in order to protect you in the same way. And because it really works, we offer for free a 100$ guarantee in case something goes wrong. There is something here about becoming "the insurance of the internet" to eliminate all the friction and fear of transacting online. This product is a Facebook chatbot with whom you talk to, just like you would do with a normal person. So what we need here are two things (that are really similar): a logo that will work as a face for the bot and a stamp that works as a 'seal of trustworthiness' for the members of the community. Something that is more flat and monochromatic but you easily can relate to the logo of the product. In terms of branding, there is a lot about giving a strong and memorable personality to our logo. We believe that the chatbot has to be friendly, fun and empathetic, but also trustworthy and reliable to pay the insurance if things go wrong. We thought that our chatbot could be a lion, but a memorable one (we're opened to other options anyway). Apart from the logo, we also need the stamp, that sellers can put on their products' photos to give trust to their buyers. The stamp needs to make sellers feel that they are part of a community of golden and trusted sellers. In terms of target market, this is for people who use FBMarketplace, Craigslist, Gumtree, etc. typically young people with medium and low incomes because those are the people who buy second-hand stuff. But at the same time, those are not very "viral". The tech community is likely to be more viral, especially with something that can be connected to InsurTech, Blockchain, Sharing Economy, etc. There are many angles, but this product can only work if it becomes viral, because the unit economics are basically negative (the product is free and there will be scams we'll have to pay out). This is a really innovative concept and we are putting a lot at risk, but we think it's really crazy and should have a great impact. Every time you transact on the chatbot, we are creating a smart contract on Blockchain, so basically we are the simplest way to write on blockchain, which gives it that "tech" aspect too. We have to change the internet with this!hose are the people who buy second hand stuff. But at the same time, those are not very "viral". The tech community is likely to be more viral, especially with something that can be connected to InsurTech, Blockchain, SharingEconomy, etc. There are many angles, but this product can only work if it becomes viral, because the unit economics are basically negative (the product is free and there will be scams we'll have to pay out).
I've attached an example of the logo and the stamp for inspiration. Again, we're opened to other proposals :) It has to be memorable!
