The contest was to design an "enlightening" circular logo for Epiphany Today, a contemplative Christian ministry. I had asked that a circular "temple" design be incorporated. Adriel exceeded my expectations in fulfilling this request. I highly recommend him.
How Mgcman20 started their logo design journey
My name is Brian Smith and I am a Search and Rescue swimmer for the US Navy. While on my last Counter-Narcotics deployment in South America, I noticed how deprived of Energy my shipmates were while they were completing life threatening and physically demanding tasks on a regular basis. Their only option was to pack as many Monsters and 5 Hr. Energies into their racks as possible, which would only last them a month or two into deployment and it would cost a fortune!
As soon as I got home I started searching for a way to have healthy, cost efficient, portable Energy to-go, and "Fighter Energy" was born. Fighter Energy is the newest way for Energy Drink consumers to get the energy they need without the negative side effects of many popular drinks in the market today. My product has no sugar, only 5 calories, the same energy kick as Red Bull and other major competitors (5 Hr. Energy, Monser, etc.) and it's in Effervescent form (like an Alka-Seltzer tablet). My drink comes in a tube with 10 tablets = 10 8 oz. energy drinks. It is portable and delicious with a customizable flavor because it can be added to any liquid (water, carbonated water, juice, alcoholic beverage, etc).
Fighter Energy stands beside our Sailors, Soldiers, and Special Forces. I want to capture their Fighting Spirit, Fierce Unending Drive, and Intense Dedication to fighting for the greater good.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
My target market is Military males age 18-34. I will also be targeting the standard Energy drink consumers: young college athletes, gamers, and semi-professionals in different extreme sports fields. Our Fighter Community will promote members of the community that represent our tagline "My World, My Fight!". We want to inspire people to dig down deep and grasp that inner power we all have to do something amazing. The people in our community will be mechanics by day and trick street bike enthusiasts by night, they will be accountants and MMA fighters, marines and semi-famous underground rappers. We need to capture that spirit to do what we're passionate about and to do it without holding anything back. I want my Logo to express all those things in a simple, iconic, and intense image. An image I can build a community around and inspire people with. The image also needs to be sleek with an element of sex appeal because it will also be sold in popular nightclubs and bars.
Our Logo should incorporate some of the following themes:
* Inspirational - Nike's Logo and tagline Just Do It.
* Energy and Intensity - Monter's Iconic Energy packed imagery.
* Popular and Exciting - Rockstar's Extreme and Dedicated community.
I like the elements of simplicity and quality that Nike employs, I like the high energy colors and action of the Monster "M", and I like the the sexy popular image that Rockstar portrays.
* The primary background color the Logo will be displayed on is Black. I would like to incorporate Red and/or Blue (as well as black, white, gray, or silver as needed). The primary place the Logo will be displayed will be on the product itself ( a tube approximately 4" by 1" with a black background color). It will also be the focal point of our website, will have to be scalable for various merchandise from t-shirts and stickers to rally cars and banners. It should also be able to work on different color backgrounds and have different color schemes applied to it (i.e. womens merchandise vs. mens merchandise).
I am open to a wordmark or combination mark but it has to fit on a small area for my product, so be mindful of that (a more linear design). I am also open to abstract creativity and I will provide a lot of feedback as the contest progresses.
