Create a clever logo for a copywriting agency (transcreation agency), with a touch of wit.
AVOID unless well-executed:
- reliance on PENCIL motif
- Fountain pen / Calligraphy Pen images
- Diamond images (looks like a jewelry store)
- grunged, distressed typography
- single letter 'S' or two 'SS' designs
- Too literal (a bundle of sticks and some rocks)
- Lightbulb or Human Brain images
- Slingshots, Catapults (trebuchet), bombs, guns, violent warfare
- Broken Bones
- bandaid, bandages (for broken bones)
STYLES THAT WORK (not a complete list):
- Retro 60s vision of the future
- Retro 50s
- Vintage Classic style - like for bars and bistros nowadays
- Use of gravure effect
DESIGNS WE LIKE (Pinterest board):
We appreciate a subtle wry element of fun in the design. Deadpan design humor where the image is classic, retro, or vintage but containing an element or idea that is surprising and fresh.
Please avoid a literal bundle of sticks and some pebbles. The logo doesn't necessarily have to include either wood or rock images.
WHAT WE DO:
Sticks & Stones writes high-end ad copy for TV and print ads for major corporations’ products exported and marketed to English-speaking markets. We work entirely with words and wit, catch phrases, and the trendiest current ideas. We target global ad agencies, TV commercial directors, PR firms, and the young and trendy junior marketing execs at corporations such as Samsung, LG, and Hyundai.
Specifically, we are a "Transcreation" agency. We make sure that companies' message and marketing doesn't get too funky when exported overseas.
TV ad directors (creatives), ad agency executives in Asia. Mostly in their late 20s to 40. These folks are hip (or consider themselves hip), and have backgrounds in creative fields and marketing.
VALUES TO COMMUNICATE:
Wit, cleverness, creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, a hint of nostalgia and tradition (vintage and retro looks apply here), quality, high end.
The reason for our company being "Sticks and Stones" comes from the old nursery rhyme that children who were bullied or were victims of namecalling would chant: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stick…y_rhyme%29
Words have the power to harm and heal.
