BetterSchools.com.au
My business partner and I are launching a new web-based service that will allow schools to gather realistic 'on the ground' data on the feelings / thoughts / comments of staff, students and parents through the use of surveys. These surveys can also be used to link back to government criteria in the areas of behaviour management and other key areas in school requirements from a government point of view.
Our passion is to empower schools to make the teaching and learning side of the education sector a better place, and to empower teachers through in-depth support and training.
The target audience for our service are school staff, students aged 6yrs to 18yrs and their parents. First point of contact is senior school staff, but among the main users are students from as young as 6 years old. Our service will also be used by parents who come from every industry/sector you can imagine, and will have differing experience with computer and internet based technologies.
The logo needs to appeal to this wide audience. As our service is a once-a-year event for each school, the logo also needs to stand the test of time, and not need to be redesigned next year because trends have changed.
The logo needs to be representative of the education sector, but definitely to have an appeal to all ages. Given that the service will be introduced to new schools through the senior staff, the logo needs to be professional and easily recognizable, while still being friendly and approachable for children as young as 6yrs old and their parents.
The tag line for our service is:
strategic whole-school improvement for all schools
The rest of our branding and our website etc will be drawn from the chosen logo, so colors need to easily transfer across the web, staff uniforms and stationary etc.
ADDED: In looking around we found this (http://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/images…dult09.jpg). If someone could come up with something like this but where the person was a little child (not gender specific) holding the tick that would be awesome.
