We have over 50 years of experience working predominantly with the following target audiences: Education, Civic, Healthcare, Commercial and Multi-family Residential, and moving strongly into Post-secondary. Our clients hire us to design buildings, but our purpose and the end result is to empower people and shape communities. Our overarching traits as an organization include words such as: collaborative, approachable, intentional, creative, inquisitive, iterative, persistent, supportive, service-oriented, bold/strong, integrity, grounded and stable.
Logo types to explore
You might notice that we have also launched a competition for the name “Imagine Architecture”. We are at a cross-roads as to which name most suits our company best. We believe that this community of talented artists will provide a variety of interpretations exploring each option – seeing both names come to life in a logo concept will help us to select our final name. IMPORTANT NOTE: We have guaranteed both contests/prizes for ThinkSpace & Imagine Architecture and invite you to participate in both. We have included a detailed Creative Brief in PDF format that you can download. It includes specific samples of logos and details about what we like and what we don’t like. Please ensure to review this document, it’s called: 99-Designs-Logo-Brief OVERARCHING CREATIVE DIRECTIONS: Architecture is the art of place-making. We create buildings to enclose, and protect the spaces we need to live and work. It is the spaces within and between buildings that makes architecture great. Consider design concepts that are/have: - Abstract - Simple - Indicative of the creative design process - Suggestive of the value and need for spaces - A strong font that could be used as its own wordmark - A use of flat colours - Use transparency to create depth or shape - Incorporate strong lines to define the concept - A simple icon and strong wordmark that can be used effectively together or independent of one another - The word ‘architecture’ can be subordinate or omitted from the logo Stay away from design concepts that are/have: - Literal and cliché symbols, e.g. no light-bulbs, brains, square boxes for buildings - Complex and difficult to reproduce - Script fonts - Feminine, soft and curvy concepts - Gradients or shadows to define the depth or shape We don’t have a preference for capitalizing letters or italics in the name, i.e. thinkspace is equally acceptable.
