Adaptive Integration got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Adaptive Integration's Logo Needs an Overhaul
Check out Adaptive Integration's Logo design contest…
In layman's terms, we provide our clients with technology to run their servers, communications, and storage solutions faster. We work within a narrow set of state of the art technologies, primarily from startups that aren't yet in the mainstream news. We are experts at moving our clients ahead of the technology curve on their back end. Our design should have a forward-thinking modern feel while still communicating trust & expertise. We don't want to look like rebellious kids to Fortune 100 companies but we certainly hang out with those kids from time to time. With that said, we are a provider of disruptive innovations in a market where change is often a big expensive proposition. How good are you at designing the same suit for both Clark Kent and Superman? We are a technical solutions provider, not a manufacturer. How we present ourselves graphically is an important factor in our pitch to both current and potential clients. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Technically ---- (if you feel like Googling buzz words) AI is an Value-Added-Reseller focused on emerging technologies. Our focus areas today are Cloud Storage, Enterprise Flash Storage, and WAN Optimization. We sell leading edge network performance and high performance SAN (storage) and cloud storage gateway hardware. All but one vendor work with are start-ups. We need to project a both a strong foundation of knowledge and a leading edge savvy as we are pushing destructive technologies in those spaces. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Our old design isn't pretty. If we see a rainbow, we will assume you are kidding and reject it :) http://www.adaptiveintegration.net/ We're looking forward to graphically joining the 21st century
Logo types to explore
We have attached a suggested palate in the extra files. Complementary colors can be added tastefully. These colors are not set in stone but they should give you a firm direction in terms of what we are looking for. Dave T has come up with a few logos that our competitors are using. He would like ours to stand out but not be too divergent from the norm. You will see a lot of abstract+word mark designs with a Web 2.0 flavor. www.intervision.com www.vardata.com www.lumenate.com www.vibrant.com www.rhinotechgroup.com www.nexusis.com www.baynetworks.com You should be able to look at other industry leaders for guidance, however, there are a lot of really ugly logos out there. ----- Update 12/2/11 We have attached examples of logos that incorporate the "integration" theme into their abstract mark. Naturally, they come in varying degrees of complexity, clarity, and attractiveness. We provide them as a way to help you brainstorm, not as specific guidance. ----- Update 12/5/11 + Avoid submissions that play with the company's initials. This style of design has been ruled out by the company principals. + Ensure that your abstract mark speaks "tech" but ensure it is not too complicated. The popular submissions have flowed nicely into the company name, teasing the eye but not holding it too long. + Try to use a broad range of palette colors. The decision makers want to see how the design works with the range of our web palette. The addition of a monochromatic version is nice as it shows how the logo will stand up when printed on conference materials or b/w stationary but using the range is important to the people who are deciding the winner.
