Logo/profile for Unicornis, a software company

Unicorn Information Systems (but we'll probably change this later on for a simpler slogan)
Unicornis (Unicorn Information Systems AS) is a customer-owned company developing software for non-profit organisations. Our goal is to make the work of NGOs easier, and at the core of this is our member management system HyperSys (http://www.hypersys.no). The company's vision is "Unicornis gjør det enkelre å være en frivillig organisasjon", or roughly translated "Unicornis makes it simpler to be a volunteer/non-profit organisation". We are founded by Hyperion N4F (www.n4f.no) which also uses a unicorn as their logo. Severeal other offshoots from Hyperion use unicorns; the "Fantastical school" http://goo.gl/N8zUxA and Magasinet Pegasus http://goo.gl/9Ca008. We would like to keep a unicorn as theme for the logo, but still have something which is ours, modern and conveys our vision. We are a software house so the logo should convey a modern feel. The logo can preferrably be a bit more vivid than just a simple 2D/flat outline, but it must then also have a flat version for use on simple t-shirts, overlays etc. Our two webpages: http://unicornis.no - The company's http://hypersys.no - The main product webpage

Ivo's first design proposals made me realize that the concept that I had in mind would probably not have the effect that I had imagined, so we turned around and simplified the concept and a day later I had a new logo that I liked 100%.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
