Games & Recreational
We are creating an adventure game: Momoka, currently targeted for iPad and iPhone, but to be expanded to other platforms in the future. The game contains around 7 hours of gameplay and is a mixture of platforming, spaceship-flying, exploration and adventure. The game is 2.5D and presented in a vibrant low-poly style. The game has serious storyline and adventure components, but also has a light hearted tone with some humorous dialogue throughout. Our target audience is people who love playing full-length hand-crafted action-adventure games (even if they don’t realise it yet).
What's your vision?
We need to create 2D art for the opening screen of the game and to use elsewhere, for example for in-store art (App Store, Steam, etc.) or for use in advertisements. We would like this to be composed of the following two elements: 1. A logo of the game's title: "Momoka" 2. An artist's 2D impression of the main character and heroine of the game, Momoka. The character should be standing on a planet with stars behind. These elements should work together or separately for use in different situations. We would like something visually striking that provides a sense of adventure. For example, the following images capture the kind of style we are after http://zeldawiki.org/images/thumb/9/93/ZeldaMinishCap_BoxArt.jpg/260px-ZeldaMinishCap_BoxArt.jpg http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/339200/header.jpg *We would like the layout to be landscape primarily*. One example is as in the Oceanhorn screenshot above, but you can be creative with the composition within landscape format. About the title (1) ------------------- We prefer a cartoon-ish look. The font we are using in the game is http://www.dafont.com/barthowheel.font so something in that vein is OK, but should be bolder and customised. All-caps is good but not required. About Momoka (2) ---------------- Momoka is a girl, wears a full-length flowing red cloak with a hood, and carries a large futuristic gun. See the four attached screenshots of Momoka in the game. Additionally we have attached two screenshots of the 3D model we use in the game, for reference. There is a great deal of creative flexibility in the artist's 2D impression of our 3D character. We do not require the 2D art to mimic any specific features or stylings of the low polygon 3D model. Please abstract away from this specific game and simply capture the combination of girl+cloak+gun on an adventure. Situation: we require the character to be stood atop something that can be recognised as a planet or moon with stars behind, such as in the attached drawing from "the little prince" (though please note: this is not the art style we are looking for). The pose can be stationary rather than in action, holding the gun. Some details: * The character should be obviously a girl, but would like the artwork to be clean and family friendly. * We have a preference for a 2D Cartoon-look * The art should not be low-poly or 3D. * We don’t see the face of Momoka in the game, but she does have a face and the expression should not be too serious. * Other background elements such as other moons or nebula or galaxies is not ruled out * The dimensions we are looking for are 2048 x 1536
The winner should provide a copy of the psd file (or equivalent) so that we can re-arrange the 2 elements.
