What's your vision?
We're building a framework that allows us to measure the emotions elicited by products by asking survey respondents, "What emotions does this product make you feel?" We then want the respondent to make their selection from a group of cartoon images representing different emotions. We need your help in designing these cartoon images that will represent 14 unique emotions: 7 positive and 7 negative. These 14 emotions are listed/described below. Positive - Inspiration: Process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, esp. to do something creative - Desire: A strong feeling of wanting to have something - Pleasant Surprise: The accident of finding something good or useful while not specifically searching for it. - Amusement: To occupy in an agreeable, pleasing, or entertaining fashion - Satisfaction: Fulfillment of one's wishes, expectations, or needs, or the pleasure derived from this - Admiration: Respect and warm approval - Fascination: The state of being intensely interested (as by awe) Negative - Boredom: Feeling weary and impatient because one is unoccupied or lacks interest - Disgust: A feeling of revulsion or profound disapproval aroused by something unpleasant or offensive - Unpleasant Surprise: Unexpectedly finding something distasteful or inadequate - Dissatisfaction: The condition or feeling of being displeased or discontent - Disappointment: The feeling of sadness or displeasure caused by the nonfulfillment of one's hopes or expectations - Indignant: Anger aroused by something unjust, unworthy, or mean - Contempt: The feeling or attitude of regarding something as inferior, base, or worthless; scorn We would like you to create 3 examples of each of these 14 emotions (42 total). We need for each emotion to be well illustrated, and simple to understand (not symbolic or abstract, but straightforward). We'd like simple backgrounds behind a cartoon of no particular ethnicity, with conservative, yet expressive attire. Each emotion must be distinct and easily distinguishable from the others according to the descriptions provided. We've included some example illustrations for your reference. Feel free to use creative licence outside of these parameters - try to make the cartoons colorful, engaging, and animated (using body language/gestures) as much as possible. We're really excited to see some great illustrations to serve as the cornerstone of our research framework!
Have fun with your designs (outside of the requirements we've set). We'll select the best designs based on how well they represent the emotions as we've described them and also on how clear and creative the cartoon emotion reads through.
