What's your vision?
We are a market positioning agency that helps tech companies discover and tell their differentiated story in order to stand out in the marketplace. We work with CEOs, CMOs and CTOs of tech companies, from 800-pound gorillas to startups. As a service agency, our intellect is our product so we are seeking a way to present our deliverables (positioning elements) to clearly articulate what the client gets, while conveying value and inspiring desire. This deliverables illustration would be featured on our website, presentations and proposals. We have a concept in mind (attached) and need help refining it and making it fit within our established look and feel (we don't think it looks like our brand). We’re also open to other ideas. Also, keep in mind, we would like to establish an ongoing relationship with a designer. With your illustration, please let us know about your experience with web design, in particular WordPress. About the concept: This is a sketch built off of a free illustration. We want this to fit within our brand family. We are open to creative ways to represent the mountain and the deliverables on it. As reference, please see how we've used a mountain illustration within our brand. We like the representation of steps on this concept--as steps to telling the story. For example, could the steps be carved into the mountain and at each step the words are etched? One thing we are NOT so keen on is the background imagery (clouds, sky, sun, trees) in the attached example – the focus should be the words on the mountain. As you’ll see we use mountains primarily in our brand, so this illustration features a path up a mountain. Think of the path as a story or conversation, starting at the bottom and ending at the top. You’ll see the elevator represents the elevator pitch, or express ride to the top (the fastest way to tell the story). The "storyteller" in this scenario is ultimately a sales executive selling B2B technology, the CEO talking to the press or presenting a keynote on stage. The text on top of the illustration must be editable. Our primary use will be in PowerPoint, since it’s our final product delivered to each client with their unique positioning – our “money” slide. Since each will be customized, we need text boxes on top of the illustration that are movable, scalable, and editable. And we need as much space as we can get for words—the words are our product, and they vary in length per client. You’ll see examples on our client page. Typically: -Hill: 3 or 4 words -Point That Matters: 1 sentence -Message pillars: 3 one sentence statements, each with a one or two word header -Problem statement: 2 or 3 sentences -Other statements: 1 sentence Also, the content will “build” one at a time, meaning (1) the story must "fit" together neatly (rather than being scattered); and, (2) each deliverable on the path would be presented in phases of our presentation as we present our research that leads to the “answer” or final recommendation for each section. This means that potentially the other deliverables up the path that haven’t been presented are “ghosted.” We’ve attached our existing template to show how we’ve used purple and gray at each level. We haven’t used people illustrations in our brand, so we’re open to creating one that fits or omitting the person entirely. If you decide to include the person, they must fit in our look and feel and look professional. Remember who the storyteller is, mentioned above, and that this is for technology primarily sold to a business. This illustration also shows the person holding a briefcase, for which we’ve assigned a few deliverables that would be built out on a separate slide(s). We’d like to see other ways to represent these “rollout” deliverables, other than a briefcase. These deliverables are not positioning elements on the path, rather they are finished pieces of work, or tools, that help the client hit the ground running (rather than working from the individual elements on the path). We call these “rollout” deliverables and they’d primarily be used by the marketing department of a tech company.
