Nick.staples got their new button or icon by running a design contest:
Help Choose A Fuel Card with a new button or icon
Check out Nick.staples's Button or icon contest…
We have recently launched in conjunction with several other companies, a Fuel Card comparison website for the UK market called www.chooseafuelcard.co.uk . The site helps users establish the best fuel card brand to open an account with based on a series of answers supplied in relation to their specific requirements
What's your vision?
We would like to create an iconic character for the site (think meerkats in compare the market or opera singer on go compare) who we can refer to in future advertising to help people relate to the service. The only name we've come up with is "Fuel Card Freddie" so we're open to suggestions on the name and the type of character but clearly a "Fuel Card" related theme needs to be an integral part of any design
The site will market card products from oil company brands such as BP, Shell, Esso, Texaco, Total & Jet so the character design could include or make use of their colours and logos

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their button or icon.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
Nick.staples collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
