Blair6 got their new button or icon by running a design contest:
Help CampusLIVE with a new button or icon
Check out Blair6's Button or icon contest…
CampusLIVE (www.campuslive.com) creates "challenges" for US college students. These challenges consist of a number of "steps," such as take a quiz, upload a photo, or vote on which video is better. Prizes are associated with these challenges, making CampusLIVE a guilt-free distraction from studying and homework.
What's your vision?
We need a set of icons that represent all the different types of challenge "steps" in our portfolio. These icons will live in tabs above the challenge steps. The icons should be very simple in nature. The icon set we need is comprised of the following 'actions' a user can perform: 1. Start (begin challenge) 2. Learn (about something new – product, service, company, etc.) 3. Listen (audio clip) 4. Watch (video clip) 5. Explore (website, products, other content) 6. Play (game, puzzle) 7. Write (comment, caption, story, etc.) 8. Answer (survey, quiz, questionnaire) 9. Pick (select an item, product, thing, etc.) 10. Vote (best picture, best video, funniest caption) 11. Like (e.g. ‘Like’ a brand or company on Facebook) 12. Sign-up (e.g. provide email address for a newsletter, offer, entry into sweepstake) 13. Upload (picture, video) 14. Share (e.g. post comment, picture, or challenge on Facebook, Twitter, or email) 15. Finish (end challenge) Note: the color palette and background design for each challenge is highly customized. Please create icons in a neutral color (like grey) that agrees with almost any possible color scheme.
Our target audience is US college students, age 18 to 24. We skew slightly to female. The site is used as a distraction from class / studying. Students engage in CampusLIVE challenges because they are both fun and provide a way to win cool prizes.
