Anneliese.Urquhart got their new app by running a design contest:
Create the next app design for Jedo
Check out Anneliese.Urquhart's App contest…
Jedo.me is an Australia wide events and activities management and discovery platform that allows everyone the opportunity to explore and host events in the local areas. We help people find, share and host events. The site has been up for 12 weeks and has had over 7,000 events listed to date. The site is currently up and running here: http://www.jedo.me/
What's your vision?
The Mobile App's purpose is to help people find events nearby. The results will be at a street level location (think UrbanSpoon but for events), and you can search on events nearby to me right now, or near to a location I'll be at in future. The designs should display a level of consistency with the logos and colours used on the site. These can be found here: www.jedo.me. The designs should also contain real data (ie event title, description, etc), because they will be used for presentation/pitch purposes as well. We need images developed, not code. We need 2 screen designs to be developed. 1. Search. This screen should include a fast search of events near me right now. The app will recognise current location if the user allows it Should also be able to search for "hot deals" and via event category search Need to be able to search at a future location 2. Search results Map of the area searched, with markers for the events. Markers need to translate to event listings- could be via a rollover, or with the list underneath the map. Interested in the different solutions here. 3. Event Wall View event wall with elements. Have a "share" with friends via social media buttons, also have a "buy" option (as we will also sell tickets via the app)
Target users of the mobile app are urban and we expect higher uptake in the 18-45 age group. Please see the current site on a mobile device to see how the site is currently optimised for mobile devices. Please let me know if you have any questions. We have had great experiences with the 99 design process so far, and I'm happy to respond to any questions you may have to ensure your design efforts are worthwhile. Will also provide feedback on designs.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
Anneliese.Urquhart collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
